On May 19, 2017, Green Valley Care Center in New Albany, Indiana, hosted its first carnival to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Foundation.

The carnival was held across the facility’s entry, and residents, associates and community members were invited to attend.

“Green Valley Care Center has one of the largest Alzheimer’s neighborhoods in Indiana,” said April Davidson, activity director. “We chose to support the Alzheimer’s Foundation because of our residents and what our facility has to offer them.”

Participants enjoyed food, such as cotton candy, hot dogs and nachos, as well as games, inflatables, rides and an exotic petting zoo, which had a kangaroo. Throughout the festivities, an Elvis Presley tribute artist entertained guests with his personality and music.

The facility considers the event a success on account of raising $700 for the Alzheimer’s Foundation and creating wonderful memories for all who attended.

“Residents and the community both made wonderful statements to the staff regarding how much they appreciate the events we host for the community,” said Davidson. “Residents are already looking forward to our next event!”
